FM tävlingsskyttar är i behov av nya tävlingsvapen för att kunna tävla och konkurrera i diverse internationella mästerskap. Behovet uppskattas till ca 300 tävlingsvapen av blandad sort samt option på ytterligare vapen och reservdelar. FMV avser endast upphandla vapen enligt det F-bet som fastställts för vardera vapen, då de vapen utgör en standard vid tävlingsskytte. Bedömning är att det kan komma bli svårt att hitta en leverantör som kan leverera alla positioner, därför föreslås att anbudet får vara helt eller partiellt. Alla anbudsgivare ska dock svara på position för service och reservdelar. Under 2016 upphandlades sådana tävlingsvapen genom öppet förfarande LOU och kontrakt tilldelades tre (3) leverantörer. Tillskillnad från föregående upphandling kommer upphandlingen genomföras genom selektivt förfarande LOU.
